Basic Archiving
This basic archival workshop will give attendees a holistic understanding of collections care by discussing fundamentals of archives, including governance, preservation, arrangement and description, storage, access and outreach. Specific examples will illustrate key points and a list of resources will be provided.
Colby Special Collections will provide coffee, tea, and cookies.
This workshop is co-presented by the Maine Historical Records Advisory Board.

3:30 - 4:30: Part 2 of the workshop including Q&A on more granular topics like storage, access, and outreach
4:30 - 5:00: Optional page turning of John James Audubon's The Birds of America in Special Collections
5 PM: MAM social mixer in at the Silver Street Tavern (2 Silver St) in downtown Waterville

The Robinson Memorial Room is located in Special Collections at Miller Library on the Colby College Campus in Waterville. View the campus map.
Parking available in the Roberts Parking Lot, which is a short walk to the Miller Library.
This venue is wheelchair accessible.
