Cultural Advocacy 101 - Partner event!

  • 06 Mar 2026
  • 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
  • Online via Zoom

Whether you're planning to attend Cultural Advocacy Day or not, here is a great opportunity to learn the basics of what advocacy means in the cultural sector and how you can get involved!

Ready to become a more confident advocate in 2026? Ahead of this year’s Cultural Advocacy Day, join us for a one-hour training with Jennifer Wilson, Director of Programming and Advocacy at the New England Museum Association.

Learn how cultural organizations and leaders show up confidently in public decision-making spaces. We’ll cover what advocacy is and isn’t, what 501(c)3s need to know about lobbying (they can do some!), how policy and funding decisions actually get made, and simple yet powerful ways to share your organization’s story with policymakers and partners. The training’s focus is on clarity, care, and collective action to build skills that fit your role, your capacity, and your community.

Who this is for: Arts & humanities organizations, libraries, museums, archives, historic sites, artists and cultural workers. Board members and emerging leaders are particularly encouraged to attend - no prior advocacy experience required!
