Museums and archives are nearly endless wells of stories and beauty, making them natural subjects for social media. In a digital landscape where advertisements and AI-generated content are filling up social media feeds, museums are uniquely situated to provide content that is rooted is historical accuracy and lived-in materiality. Learn some simple and fun ways that you can highlight your collections and organization on social media, all while increasing your brand awareness, staying culturally relevant, and growing your audience.

    About the presenter:
Abigail Jakub is the Digital Media & Communications Specialist at Maine Historical Society where she manages social media and produces videos. She grew up in Downeast Maine and attended the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.

Join MAM for a casual conversation sharing tips and tricks for what kind of fundraising is best for your institution. With so much competition for funds, it can be daunting to know what approach will work best for you. Whether you're great at getting grants and membership, or brand new to fundraising, we would love to have you at our virtual table.

The conversation will be facilitated by Lucy Hannington, Executive Director of MAM. We will have three guests offering short presentations on their areas of expertise: Katie Orlando, Executive Director of the Seashore Trolley Museum (annual appeals), Sarah Lentz of the Maine Philanthropy Center (foundation grants), and Kristy Griffin Executive Director of the Maine Mineral and Gem Museum (federal grants).

This is a free event for MAM members. Not a member yet? Join here.
