USM Libraries’ is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, inclusive, and enthusiastic individual who values innovation for the position of Archivist for the Franco-American Collection at our Lewiston-Auburn Campus.
The Archivist for Franco American Collection will oversee the Collection as the professional librarian and work closely with the Director of Libraries, the Franco-American Collection Board, and the LAC Research and Instruction Librarian to organize and promote the Collection. The Archivist provides public services and technical services for the Franco-American Collection including processing manuscripts and other collections, cataloging of books and other materials in the collection and maintaining the newly initiated Archive Space collection database. This position oversees the public services of the Franco-American Collection, which includes the day-to-day operation of the Collection, assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors with research and requests for information. The Archivist will collaborate with the LAC Library and Franco-American Fellow on a variety of library initiatives, public programming, and student support activities.
