Contract job opportunity with a private collection in rural Western Maine. The Firebird Foundation for Anthropological Research is seeking a project-based collections care technician for a material culture collection with the primary directive to assist with a local collections move. To be considered, applicants should have prior experience with collections care tasks including object handling, packing, surface cleaning, and rehousing. The collections care technician will report directly to the collections manager. Professional degree in museum studies or related degree preferred. Starting hourly rate of $22/hr; flexible work timeline (during spring–fall); two-month trial period with possibility for extension up to 6 months.
