Institution description
The Maine State Archives, a bureau within the Department of the Secretary of State, maintains approximately 95 million pages of official state records considered to be permanently valuable. The Archives Services Division preserves and provides access to archival records for research. The records management Division stores records for state agencies and schedules state and local government records to ensure archival items are retained.
